The 2025 ASP Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biopharmacology will be held August 2-6, 2025 in Grand Rapids, ASP2025 - Grand Rapids, Michigan August 2-August 6, 2025 The American Society of Biopharmacology was founded in 1959 as an outgrowth of the Plant Science Symposium, which itself was founded in 1923. The Society is international, bringing together professionals dedicated to the promotion, growth and development of more than just biopharmacy but all aspects of these sciences are related to and trade in natural products. The Society currently has over 1,100 active and associate members. Approximately 40% of the active members reside outside of the United States and Canada and represent more than 60 countries worldwide. Biopharmaceutics is the study of natural product molecules (usually secondary metabolites) that are useful for their medicinal, ecological, gustatory, or other functional properties. The natural species that are the source of the compounds under study span all living organisms, most notably marine invertebrates, plants, fungi and bacteria. The field of biopharmacology is constantly changing and being updated with new scientific fields and technologies. This is one of the reasons why graduate pharmacy is a good choice for those who enjoy working in the many different but complementary scientific fields associated with the natural world.
